Greystone Fields Wedding – Lexi and Josh

You may remember Lexi and Josh from their engagement session that I photographed back in June. Their wedding was Saturday and it was a blast.  When I arrived in the morning, I learned that the girls were all locked out of the house when when they returned from having their hair done.  Good thing they had plenty of time and weren’t slowed at all!  Lexi dressed and ready to roll…. Only Lexi’s mom, Donna, and bridesmaid, Jamie had seen the bride in her dress or had seen the dress at all.  The dress was a surprise to everyone else, including Dad.    Clearly, they are all impressed. Bubbles after the ceremony…

Änna C’s Portraits in the Strip District

Right before I left for my trip to Alaska (and I mean the night before),  I had the privilege to shoot with Christina Montemurro. We met Änna in the strip district.  I had a great time and got to work with more off-camera lighting, which I don’t do too often.  (I’m a natural light kind of girl, but off-camera lighting is Christina’s favorite and I like that about her.) Änna is a jazz singer and a student at Duquesne University….and a beautiful girl! Here are 3 of my faves from that shoot. I love this face! You can visit her blog to see Christina’s photos plus a few more of…

    Mt McKinley Flightseeing

Today Ryan and I took a flightseeing tour of Mt McKinley.  It was the most fun thing we’ve done so far on this trip!  It was breathtakingly beautiful and we LANDED ON A GLACIER!! From left to right….Mount Foraker, Mount Hunter, and Mount McKinley.  Today, all images are straight out of the camera, no photoshop, no processing.  It’s just that amazing! Ryan and I having a good time on the flight These granite cliffs on the right protrude 5000′ from the top of the glacier below.  The glacier extends 3000′ below the surface for a total of 8000′ of depth of the crevasse.  Heart shaped glacial movement.  Aw….. Landing on…

    Exit Glacier and Talkeetna

Our day began in Seward, Alaska.  Seward is a popular fishing village where many restaurants will cook the fish that you catch.  Fishing wasn’t on our agenda, but it sounded fun anyway. The main reason we stayed in Seward was so we could go to Exit Glacier. Erin and I are snapping pics at the glacier.  Photo by Ryan. Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park See me? You can normally hike to the “toe” of the glacier, but it was closed due to flooding. The incredible shrinking glacier….. View of Mt McKinley on the way to Talkeetna. Tonight we are staying in Talkeetna.  Talkeetna is the real city on…

Girdwood, Portage Glacier, and Whittier, Alaska

Another great day in Alaska.  The weather has been much better than expected, which is unusual for Alaska.  Here is today…. We started out in Anchorage and had a repeat breakfast at the Snow City Cafe.  Our waiter told me I was honored to get the coveted “Pug Mug.”  The cafe has all different kind of coffee mugs. After breakfast, we started driving toward Seward.  We didn’t make it far, only to a lookout point.  These cool rocks surrounded the parking lot. Next stop–Girdwood. We went on the Aleyeska Tramway at the Aleyeska Resort.  The tram climbs a 2000′ vertical.  Atop the mountain, there is 1000 inches of snow annually…
