Salsa!

Since I attended the Canon Live Learning workshop in July presented by stillmotion, I’ve been pretty excited about using the video functionality of my DSLR.  I’ve made a few videos, most being for my personal use.  Finally, I have one that I wanted to share.  I made this video at the end of August when Nicki and Denise (my mom) were making and canning fresh salsa using tomatoes from my garden.

Not bad, eh?  Hopefully you found it visually stimulating and educational.

Visit this link ( Salsa Day from Randi Voss Photography on Vimeo) to see the equipment list that I used for the shoot and information about the song.

What does making a video about salsa have to do with wedding photography?  Well, I think that any time I use my DSLR for video, it makes me a better photographer.  I also think that the more I practice photography, the better my videos will become.  I have created a “wedding cinema” that I hope to share soon.  Right now I’m waiting for permission to use a song that is synchronized with the video.  Get excited, but please, don’t hold your breath.
