Tatiana and Marc | Strip District Engagement Photography

Tatiana contacted me after I photographed a wedding for a friend that she knew from work.  We met at a coffee shop and I got to know her and her mom.  Her fiance, Marc, as away at school, and he wasn’t able to join us.  Luckily, engagement photos were high on their wedding to-do list, so I got a chance to meet him last weekend.  It was definitely warmer than we expected it to be at the beginning of April in Pittsburgh! Tatiana and Marc visit the Strip District in Pittsburgh often on the weekends, so we decided it was a good place to grab some photos (even better since…

    Baby Laine

I’ve mentioned before how much I love my neighborhood.  It’s true.  As of last month, we have a new (though temporary) addition to our neighborhood–baby Laine and her family. Laine’s mom, Jennifer, was asking our neighbors if they knew any photographers, and thankfully, my name came up.  Since I was outside sitting on my porch, she came over and introduced herself.  (Man, I really love this neighborhood) Here are some of my favorites from our shoot last weekend.  From inside of their home right after nap time. We set up this family portrait where Laine and Mom were having a good time making faces. As always, leaves directly into the…

Kayla and Leslie – Pittsburgh Family Photography

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing four generations of a lovely family in Squirrel Hill.  Barbara contacted me after seeing Laura and Mark’s Wedding Album when she and her sister were taking fitness classes from Laura.  I met them at home on a Sunday for a few large group and individual family photos. Nicki was nice enough to come with me to organize the large group.  After we were done shooting the portraits, we got to take a few photos of that adorable 4th generation, Kayla and Leslie. At first it was hard to get their attention due to the presence of grapes. But toys will fix that. …

    Smitten Kitchen, 10 ways

It’s March, and wedding season is slowly ramping up in Pittsburgh.  I’m having a great time in this slow time as I’m sure to be swimming (happily) in photographs in no time at all.  Until then, time to crush more of that 20 lists of 10 in 2010. This one, I just completed.  “Cook 10 recipes from the Smitten Kitchen blog.”  This was not hard to do since I’m a big Smitten Kitchen fan and I love to cook.  The SK author, Deb,  (we affectionately refer to her by name in my circles) is a food lover and avid photographer. While I enjoy reading her stories and checking out her…

    Playing in the Woods

Last weekend, I spent a sunny Saturday with my mom (Denise) and my husband (Ryan) in Ohiopyle, PA.  The last time I was here, I was photographing an engagement session for Sara and Nigel.  I’m lucky enough to be photographing two weddings this season at this beautiful location.  For now, some photos in springtime…. One of my absolute favorite places at Ohiopyle is the Cucumber Falls area. Here is mom, thinking about Nicki and Dad who have been working in Texas for a month.  She misses them. Mom is a photographer too!  Good job, Mom (even using back-button focusing)!!! Photo by Ryan Photo by Randi.  My mom is so beautiful.…
