Christine and Shawn’s Wedding at the Heinz History Center
When I met Shawn and Chris, I was pleasantly surprised at the unique vision they shared for their wedding day. They both described how their families were so important to them, so they wanted to focus on photography of their families as well as everyone having a great time. As the final wedding to end the regular season, Ryan and I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Christine and Shawn’s wedding at the Heinz History Center. As usual, I started with Christine and her bridesmaids getting ready. Christine’s makeup by Greg from Lightko Studios They elected to see each other before the wedding in a first look meeting. Somehow, we…

Barbie and Chuck’s Engagement Session with the Pittsburgh City Skyline
Barbie and Chuck have a unique engagement story. They had talked about getting married for a while and Chuck had secretly bought a ring. One evening, Barbie was sitting on the couch with pajamas and wine, studying for an exam. She jokingly bet Chuck $10 that they would not be getting engaged that night. A few minutes later, Chuck pulled the coffee table out from under her feet and asked her to get up so that he could proposed. Though she thought “[he] can’t be serious,” he was. And she lost the bet. Chuck has yet to collect his $10. Barbie, I think it’s time to pay up. We got…

Jen and Marc’s Wedding at Heinz Chapel and the Heinz History Center
Jen and Marc met while they were students at the University of Pittsburgh, and on Saturday, they were married after being together for seven years. They wanted their wedding day to be “a really fun party,” and that is what they got! First, they exchanged vows and rings at beautiful Heinz Chapel. Then, the bridal party stopped for lunch at Primanti Brothers in the South Side, and finally to one of the best places in Pittsburgh to have a really fun party–Heinz History Center. I began my day photographing Jen and her bridesmaids and “Men of Honor” downstairs in Heinz Chapel. Ryan was upstairs and got this fantastic shot of…

Katherine and Mike’s Engagement Session at Mellon Park
When you look great, you usually feel great. Katherine and Mike looked so fantastic at their engagement session last week, and I trust that they were feeling great too. Katherine contacted me earlier this year when she saw Courtney and Jeff’s wedding photos. Katherine works with Courtney at Lilly Pulitzer, and like Courtney and Jeff, Katherine and Mike are planning their Pittsburgh wedding while living in Philadelphia. I know that planning your wedding while living in another city is no easy task, so I’m honored that they came into town just for these photos. The weather cooperated nicely and we got together last weekend while they were in town. Below…

Kenny
Though I’ve known Ken for most of my life, I just met “little Kenny” a year ago. Last week, I met him along with his parents, Kat and Ken for a family portrait session near Schenley Park and Phipps. It was a very warm, but windy October afternoon, with great lighting and lots of things to explore. Kenny is learning how to walk. Appropriately, he is sporting his “zombie walk” just before Halloween. Getting some help from mom and dad. Here we are at the George Westinghouse monument. A near miss–Kenny coming right for my lens! Kat was protecting me (and my equipment) from little hands, but I was…
