Jessica and Ryan’s Engagement Portraits
Jessica and Ryan met at a hospital. They were both working as anesthesiology residents (a 6 year residency!!) when they met near an elevator. When I met them on Tuesday afternoon for their engagement session, I was surprised to find them in scrubs and white coats. After learning more about how long their residency program was and how much time the spend working, I realized that it is in these clothes that they see each other (and the world) most often. Thankfully they have each other to get through their medical program! Their wedding is coming up this weekend and this shoot was excellent practice for all the fun we’ll…

Bunny Bowl 2011
Though our last Bunny Bowl was two years ago, Saturday was the “2nd Annual Bunny Bowl.” We played early on Saturday morning in order to be done before the Penguins playoff game. By “we,” I exclude myself since I have a little bit of a foot injury and have to be well for upcoming weddings. See, I keep myself healthy for you. Carmela and my Dad. Nicki and my Dad play “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” though it seems that my Dad forgot the rules. Seriously, one finger? What is that? A pencil? Looks at me like he doesn’t know the rules of R,P,S even though I have PROOF that he played…

Nicole and JP’s Engagement Session at the Carnegie Carnegie Theater and Library
I love when I get credit for something I had very little to do with. When I first met Nicole, she mentioned that she met JP when they were both performing in a local public theater production of Titanic. It was Nicole and JP who were spending hours and hours rehearsing and performing–miles and miles and rivers and tunnels from their own homes, meeting, dating, falling in love, and getting engaged. But it was here at the theater where they met where I suggested as a backdrop for their engagement photos. So Gold Star for me on this location choice for our shoot (But really for them for being so…

Carnegie Mellon Spring Carnival 2011
Last weekend I went to my third Spring Carnival as a Carnegie Mellon University Alumnae. Just like last year, Friday was sunny and clear while Saturday was cold and rainy. I spent Friday morning at the Buggy race where I shot a short film for Syncopated Pictures. Since I took so many photos of Sweepstakes last year, I thought I’d mix it up with a video. Go on over and watch it. So this year I wanted to focus on the Mobot Race. Unfortunately I didn’t get there early enough to get a good spot since the Buggy races were delayed due to injuries (yikes!). When I did make my…

Harry and Kayt’s ShotBox
Well, I have the best job in the whole world! After spending hours looking at great moments from their wedding day, I moved on to their ShotBox photos! Wow! I love editing the ShotBox photos as it is the first time I get to look through the photos. While I’m capturing moments on the dance floor or at the bar, Ryan is helping guests party hard in ShotBox. What great fun to look at a bunch of people having a great time! Harry and Kayt decided that they wanted a photobooth at their wedding before they met with me last fall. ShotBox was the perfect fit for the party atmosphere…
