Rene and Dave’s Wedding at Sacred Heart and the Heinz History Center

The first time I met Rene and Dave, I really hoped that I could be a part of their wedding day. They are nice, kind, and prefer to live a drama-free lifestyle. When I asked Rene if she wanted Nicki and I to coordinate privacy so they didn’t see each other before their pre-ceremony photos, Rene said “that sounds too stressful. I’d rather see Dave than have any stress.” Definitely a wedding day I’d love to photograph! And I did…

As neither Rene nor Dave are from Pittsburgh, most of their wedding guests traveled to celebrate their wedding with them in their new hometown. They were showing off all of the best parts of the city to their friends and relatives last weekend. Rene and Dave were married in a ceremony at Sacred Heart Parish in Shadyside and followed with a fantastic reception in the Great Hall of the Heinz History Center. Gidas Flower’s provided Rene’s stunning bouquet and Dean from Pittsburgh DJ Company led a great dance party for the reception in the Great Hall.

One of my favorite parts of the wedding day was Dave’s welcome speech for their wedding guests. While he was gracious in his words for all, the kindest words were about Rene’s beautiful smile. She does have a great one!

Nicki joined me on Saturday to photograph Dave and the groomsmen getting ready. She always provides an excellent compliment to my wedding day coverage. Lily also joined us and provided so much help on this busy wedding day. Congratulations, Rene and Dave! Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day!
