As Rachel and Bary both live out of town, currently in separate cities, we made some time together on Black Friday for their engagement shoot. We began at their (and my!) alma mater, Carnegie Mellon.

After a quick stop to the place where they had their first kiss, we did most of the shoot at Mellon Park.

Rachel and Bary have quite a height difference. I asked if Bary ever picked Rachel up and the answer, surprisingly, was No. I love Rachel’s face here.

Jen and Dave met through mutual friends a few years ago. They really enjoy Pittsburgh sports and I’m sure they’ll continue to do so in their new home–Columbus, Ohio. Here are my favorite photos from their beautiful fall engagement photos in Schenley Park.

Last weekend, they traveled to Pittsburgh for their engagement photos at Mellon Park. It was my first time meeting them, but the session felt like we were already friends. Cassandra and Jim are so lovely and I’m thrilled to be their wedding photographer next July!

After a quick outfit change, we drove over to Shadyside for an urban setting. I LOVE Cassandra’s coat! It was cold but she looked amazing.

A few months later, Teo asked Marciela out to dinner. She agreed but didn’t realize until half way through the date that he had asked her on an official romantic date. Such a familiar CMU story, but this one has a happy ending as they both really like each other and are planning their wedding for April 2012.

We met at their meeting place, CMU’s campus for their engagement photo shoot. First, in Resnick Hall, the place they were living when they first met.

It was a cold day, but the fall leaves were beautiful. And with so many great buildings on campus, we could duck inside for a few minutes to warm up.

Congratulations, Marciela and Teo, I can’t wait to celebrate with you next year!

We headed into Downtown Pittsburgh for a few more engagement photos.

Casey and Jonas met when they were students at the University of West Virginia. Jonas needed a date for an event so he asked Casey, whom he just met just moments before asking her out. Casey turned him down (he was a complete stranger at that point) but sent him an instant message a few days later. Now they live near Washington DC and enjoy their time together trying new restaurants and experiencing the city together.

Rachel and Devin met when they were students at Syracuse University. They’ve traveled together, lived in London (right next to one of Ottolenghi‘s restaurants–I’m jealous!), and now are spending their time in Pittsburgh. They wisely chose Highland Park as the location for their engagement photo shoot location. We spent a spectacular October afternoon together there earlier this week.

Kacey and Nate met when they were in business school together at West Virginia University. Together they enjoy running, working out, and cooking on their barbeque grill. When I met them for an initial interview, I mentioned the concept of the “First Look” where they would see each other (and take all of their photos) hours before their wedding ceremony. They were totally sold on this concept, so excited, and they made me feel like I invented it, which I did NOT. All of this excitement certainly spread over to me and I’m thrilled to be a part of their wedding next September.

I take walks in my neighborhood all of the time and was excited to finally have great clients to photograph at some of my favorite spots.

Did I mention how cute things are in Aspinwall?

We made a second stop at Salamander Park in Fox Chapel. This is the exact spot where Nate Proposed to Kacey. On the day of their engagement, they took a walk together in this park for the first time. Not knowing where Nate was going to proposed, he lucked out when they came to this footbridge.
