Caitlin and Steven’s Wedding at the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer
Caitlin and Steven were setup on a date by their mothers. It sounds old-fashioned, especially since their mothers were childhood friends. Steven had traveled in Egypt with the help of some travel guides. Since Caitlin was planning to study abroad in Egypt, their moms thought that they should get together to exchange books and information. Caitlin did receive the books before her trip, but she and Steven didn’t meet until her semester was over. When she returned to Pittsburgh, Steven had no interest in meeting “some college girl” in Pittsburgh, but he was eager to hear about her trip that coincided with the Egyptian Revolution 0f 2011. Obviously, they both…

Rebecca and Steven’s Wedding at the Heinz History Center
Rebecca and Steven were both working at the University of Pittsburgh as researchers when they met several years ago. Since then, Rebecca has earned her PhD in St Louis and Steven is starting to work on one of his own in Cleveland. The time has come for Rebecca and Steven to start their marriage and say goodbye to their long distance relationship. Their wedding day at the Heinz History Center brought friends and family together from all over the country. Rebecca and Steven chose to see each other before their wedding ceremony to take photos around the history center and with their friends and family. They were married in a…

Ashley and Shawn’s Wedding at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association
Ashley and Shawn haven’t been to a lot of weddings, but they knew that a lot of traditions weren’t for them. When I described my approach to a wedding day, Ashley told me that they didn’t have a bridal party and weren’t too keen on bride and groom preparation photos. I really appreciate that Ashley, like me, believes that having a wedding should be fun. If it is stressful, why go to all of the trouble? Ashley and Shawn planned their wedding day locations so everything was within walking distance. They got dressed at the Wyndham Pittsburgh, and from there walked to Heinz Chapel for their wedding ceremony and Pittsburgh Athletic…

Katie and Dave’s Wedding at Lake Latonka
Katie and Dave have been together for a long time, so they knew they didn’t want a long engagement. One of the things they did to save on time was decide to have their wedding at Katie’s parent’s lake house. While it started out as a simple wedding in her parent’s backyard, the wedding quickly outgrew the status of “backyard wedding” and beyond! Katie and her mom did all of the planning and coordinating for the catering, tent, lighting, linens, photographer, videographer, string quartet, entertainment, and more. Since Katie’s parents don’t live at Lake Latonka full time, their friends and neighbors stopped by daily to check on the house, water…
