Jennifer and Alex were married at the Barn at Fallingwater on Saturday, June 12, 2010. They planned for an outdoor ceremony to begin at 4pm. The weather forecast for the day was uncertain, and at 3:30pm, they made the decision for an outdoor ceremony. I’m so glad that they did because it was beautiful! Even though the “game time” decision was stressful for them, an outdoor wedding was definitely part of their wedding day vision.

These two didn’t need any encouragement from me to share a kiss or two…or three….or four…..

After some family photos, we stopped in the field adjacent to the ceremony site. This is one of my favorites.

Jenn and Alex had arranged to have a photo shoot at Fallingwater. It was beautiful and relaxing to take a break for some alone time.

The last tour of the day was leaving the house–visitors from the balcony were pointing, waving, and taking photos of Jenn and Alex. This photo by Ryan.

After delicious dinner by Extraordinary Catering by Bart, we had another photo session around the Barn.

Sara and Mike’s Engagement Photos

Being a wedding photographer in Pittsburgh is great. I love meeting new, happy people, working with them to plan their wedding photography, and creating special memories with photography. The good and bad thing about being a wedding photographer is that I hope I don’t have repeat clients. Well, after the weddings, I do hope that clients will hire me to photograph their babies, families, and entire lives, BUT I really want them to have only one wedding. Since the same people can’t get married year after year, I liken “repeat customers” to those who received a personal referral for my services. Sara and Mike are just those kind of people who found me through Sara’s co-worker, Jess, who I worked with in July 2009. (Hi Jess!) Jess recommended me to Sara and Mike and I met with them right away. We had a great connection and I’m excited for their June 2011 wedding.

We met last weekend for engagement photos on Pittsburgh’s North Shore near PNC Park. It had been bright and sunny with blue skies all day. That evening, the sky was white, but the lighting was still super nice.

I don’t know why, but I really dig this next shot.

I had to get creative with this next one since there were a lot of people around (including another photographer with a bride and groom) and I didn’t want to be in their way….or for them to be in my shot.

These two are freaking adorable!

Because we are only living once, Sara and Mike took a ride down the railing. Check Mike’s face…. love it.

Tatiana and Marc’s Wedding Album

Tatiana and Marc’s Wedding at St Sylvester Parish

Saturday was a beautiful day for Tatiana and Marc‘s wedding. They grew up just a few blocks away from each other, but didn’t start dating until they were in college. After flirting in class (to no surprise of their friends), they finally got together. I was honored to photograph their wedding in the South Hills of Pittsburgh at St Sylvster Parish in Brentwood.

First, I joined Tatiana and her bridesmaids while they were getting ready.

Tatia’s dress was really really big, and she is a small lady.

Due to some really excellent wedding day planning by Tatia and her mom, the ladies were all ready in plenty of time to make some photos. This was great since we had a limited amount of time between the ceremony and reception.

I took this photo at the request of Tatia’s mom, Laura. When the girls were children, there is a similar photo of them from another wedding. They are just as adorable now.

Ryan joined Marc and his groomsmen as well. Nice work with that off-camera light, Ryan.

The wedding ceremony was held at St Sylvester Parish in the Brentwood area of Pittsburgh. This was my first time at St Sylvester Parish, and it was wonderful to work there. Marc was little nervous before the service.

Nat was super happy (and emotional) taking Tatia down the aisle.

When they came out of the church after the receiving line, Tatia’s mom threw rice at the couple. Obviously, Tatia and Marc were surprised and shocked! Sorry guys, I thought it was a hilarious moment that you couldn’t forget. You probably found rice in your clothes and hair, but at least you’ll have good luck.

Our photo spot was the pond in Jefferson Regional Memorial. We had some great lighting for these photos too!

Ryan grabbed this photo while Tatia was walking to the limousine. Nice catch!

They had a hilarious, good-spirited cake fight during the reception.

Next three first dance photos by Ryan. Tatia and Marc were so adorable!

Their bridal party, parents, and grandparents joined them for a dance.

Then the real party started! Here is (sister) Sonja and her main squeeze.

This bridal party was so excited to be there celebrating with Tatiana and Marc. We always love to see a dancing bridal party, especially groomsmen!!

Kayla and Leslie – Pittsburgh Family Photography

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing four generations of a lovely family in Squirrel Hill. Barbara contacted me after seeing Laura and Mark’s Wedding Album when she and her sister were taking fitness classes from Laura. I met them at home on a Sunday for a few large group and individual family photos.

Nicki was nice enough to come with me to organize the large group. After we were done shooting the portraits, we got to take a few photos of that adorable 4th generation, Kayla and Leslie.

At first it was hard to get their attention due to the presence of grapes.

As it sometimes happens, I was all packed up and ready to go when Leslie started playing on the stairs. So cute!

More shoots coming soon. Now that it’s April, people are starting to feel like being photographed again. Good news for me!

Jill and Todd’s November Wedding – Wedding Photographer Pittsburgh

On Saturday I joined Jill and Todd for their wedding at the beautiful St Philips Church in Crafton, Pennsylvania. Jill got ready at her parents’ house and she looked spectacular!

Still can’t believe this November weather.

We had nearly two hours between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the cocktail hour, so we made three stops for photographs. The first stop was at the West End Overlook. Photo by Christina Montemurro.

Sometimes it’s a little hard to get used to posing for the camera. Obviously Todd isn’t feeling this arm grab, and Jill finds this hilarious!

After a quick stop at the Mellon Institute, we stopped near PNC Park for this nighttime photo. The time was only 5:20pm and it was already dark!

Their reception was held at the wonderful Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. Here is Jill and Todd’s Entry into the reception.

Kelly and Drew are married!

I spent the day with Kelly, Drew, and their wonderful friends and family. Here are some of my favorite shots from today.

Kelly and Drew met before their wedding so we had about two and a half hours to travel around Richmond, Virginia for these shots and relax before that walk down the aisle.

It was a hot day so we spent some time in the beautiful train station in Richmond, Virginia.

There was lots of great lighting in the station, but we weren’t allowed on the platform.

Here, we were right outside of the capital building just before a Greenpeace Protest. An officer came over (we thought he was going to tell us we were not allowed to take photos) but he said we might want to leave because of the rally!
