Briana and Tim’s Engagement Photos on a Farm

When I met Briana and Tim for an interview last December, I fell instantly in love with them. They love being outdoors and they (especially Briana) LOVE photography. Before I got a chance to show my sample wedding albums, Briana and Tim were showing me a press printed album (think yearbook) that they had made of their trip across the country the previous summer. When do I get to go to a meeting and see new albums? They also showed me their blog and tole me all about their wedding. Love!

Briana also mentioned that she loved creative photography and was willing to try any crazy thing I wanted to photograph. For their engagement session, they chose a rural location on Tim’s family’s property. She promised (and delivered) open fields, old tractors, and two happy people. Some of my favorites….

While I was driving to their session, it was raining the entire time. I was sure it was going to clear (it did), and we were rewarded for our patience with beautiful light!

Also on the property was this rusty, old blue pickup truck.

Good thing I didn’t see these new friends until I was done shooting from inside of the cab.

Their dog, George, was around for some of the shots too. Here are one of the few shots were I didn’t get “dog butt” in my shot.

For a while, I’ve wanted to shoot an engagement session with balloons. After meeting her, I knew that Briana would be really into this, and she was. I bought the balloons and after breaking four balloons on the way to the session, I told Briana and Tim I might not post these images on my blog. But I couldn’t resist, as they were some of my favorites.

Especially this last one.

Shannon and Derek’s Engagement Photos in the Strip District

Sometimes, it rains on your engagement session. And sometimes it rains on your wedding day. While I can’t control when it rains (and IF I could, I would probably change careers, become corrupt, and make an insane amount of money), I can control when I’m going to photograph people for their Engagement Session. If you are flexible on when your engagement photos can happen, then I can be too. Sometimes there is only one day or time when we can get together, and I’m confident that I can make beautiful, fun photos for you at that time, no matter what the weather. But other times, when there is cloud-to-ground lightening and tons of rain, it is better for me, my equipment, and your hairstyle that we just delay the shoot by a few days. That way, even if it rains on your wedding day, you’ll have one set of sunny photos.

Shannon and Derek were in this exact situation. We had scheduled our shoot months in advance and when their day came….rain city. We rescheduled for a weekday that just happened to have low humidity, cool air, and lots of sunshine. Thanks for being flexible–I hope you think it was worth the wait.

We met in the Strip District near the Cork Factory for this shoot.

High School sweethearts, Shannon and Derek will celebrate the start of their marriage in May 2011. Congratulations, both of you!

Jamie and Ben – Butler County Conservancy Photography

I used to work with Ben at Burt Hill. During an office renovation, we sat together surrounded by people from a different department. Bonding occurred.

Ben’s sister, Lexi, got married in August and both Ben and his wife, Jamie, were in the bridal party. At Angie and Alex’s wedding, Ben was a guest while Jamie was the maid of honor. Now they are pretty much bridal party professionals.

After seeing so many awesome and fun photographs of people they knew, they wanted some of their own. We met at Butler County Conservancy (the same place where I met Ben’s sister, Lexi in June for Lexi and Josh’s Engagement Photos ).

The first thing we saw was this fallen tree.

Ben says that Jamie makes their photos look better. He is correct.

This is my fave.

Thanks, Jamie and Ben. I can’t wait for the next wedding where you two are in the bridal party.

Meghan and Seth – Frick Park Engagement Photography

I met Meghan and Seth on Saturday for a sunny engagement session at Frick Park. We had planned to meet in the middle of October for this session, but had to reschedule due to rain and Seth’s football coaching success. We finally made time for our shoot and it was definitely worth the wait.

Meghan and Seth met when they were students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Meghan has beautiful eyes! And her makeup was perfect.

Seth is probably a foot taller than Meghan. In this pic of their shoes, looks like their actual heights.

Meghan’s awesome charm bracelet. Her newest charm is the engagement ring (upper left) that matches her actual engagement ring.

Jill and Todd – Settler’s Cabin Engagement Photos

I met Jill and Todd this past spring to talk about their wedding. Todd used to work with Danielle and they heard about me through her.

Jill, Todd, and I arrived separately for the engagement photos at Settler’s Cabin Park in Robinson. First, I saw Todd in his dark gray Nissan Altima. A few minutes later, Jill arrived in her bright yellow VW Bug with sunflowers on the dash. I just thought the two cars fit their personalities perfectly, and they are adorable together. Jill said “I want these to be super cute. Let’s spell out ‘LOVE’ with our bodies.” We didn’t get a chance to do that, but this is what we did get…

Lots of walking around in the park.

This was one of the nicest days we’ve had in Pittsburgh in a while. The sun was a welcome addition.

Todd is probably making fun of Jill for being a goofball, which seems like standard fare.

Love this tree.

Jill and Todd are Pirates fans. Seems like they were meant for each other, being the only two fans in the city. Hahaha, just kidding!

It wont’ be too long until you see Jill and Todd again. Their wedding is coming up on 11/21/2009.
