Olivia and Chris’s Wedding at Pittsburgh Opera

Olivia and Chris met when they were students together at Penn State. While that’s where they met, they didn’t start their dating and courtship until they were attending an alumni ski trip and started to know each other a bit better. They lived apart from one another for four out of they six years they have been dating. They endured a long distance relationship and finally got to be together in 2011 when Chris moved to Texas where they live and work as engineers.

Olivia and Chris are very organized and detail oriented. As a trained engineer myself, I appreciate and embrace some structured elements to the wedding day. I think it’s important to have a good, realistic schedule and leave plenty of room for fun and enjoying the wedding day experience. Olivia and Chris certainly shared this perspective as I heard Olivia exclaim countless times “this is so much fun!”

Olivia and Chris were married at the Pittsburgh Opera in front of their closest family and friends. During the ceremony, they planted bluebonnet seeds using soil from different places from where they had each lived. Maybe it was an excuse to play in the dirt in a wedding gown(?), but it was a lovely part of their ceremony. When the ceremony had ended, guests were welcomed into the ballroom with a delicious meal from Rania’s Catering and reception entertainment by DJ Eric Wenning.
Christina Montemurro joined me (for the first time in three years) to help photograph this very special day. We started our day at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel meeting separately with Olivia and Chris. I had a great time working with Rachael from Ryan Makeup as Olivia and her bridesmaids got ready for the wedding day.
Congratulations, Olivia and Chris!
