The newest Mr. & Mrs. Voss–Steve and Robyn!!!

I’m so excited to share this wedding today. It was beautiful, fun, fantastic, and I got to see so much of my family! Ryan and I really enjoyed this trip to Minnesota. We had four days of family fun including a wedding rehearsal on Thursday, a Groom’s dinner on Friday, the wedding day on Saturday and gift opening during Sunday brunch.  For most families, this might seem like a lot of events, but it barely gave me enough time to visit with Ryan’s huge immediate family and all of my new in-laws.

Robyn and Steve have been together since 2005 when they met at work at the local pool. They’ve been planning their wedding for just over a year and they picked the perfect date. September 17th. They now share and Anniversary with Steve’s parents and  is one day after my wedding anniversary with Ryan. I guess the Voss men can stick together when it comes to having to remember this important date….but who could forget when you have such great wives?

Like this lovely lady, Robyn. I’m so happy to have a new sister-in-law!

Their wedding ceremony was outdoors at Noerenberg Memorial Gardens, performed by wedding officiant Victor Branitski. The morning was dreary and a little bit wet, but the skies cleared a bit for the ceremony.

Steve waiting alone before the ceremony.

My beautiful mother-in-law, Liz with Steve.

Robyn said later that she didn’t expect to get emotional during the ceremony.

If you look to the right of Steve, you’ll notice that the best man looks a lot like him. In fact, that’s Steve’s identical twin brother, Kevin Voss. Hi Kevin!

And this is the Voss/Leu family–all 16 of them. Ryan and Randi, paternal grandparents Ben and Mary, Kevin, Dan and Liz, Steve and Robyn, maternal grandparetns Art and Phyllis, Jenny, Laura, Ana and Chris and Benjamin. Sheesh, that’s a big family.

Kevin gave a great toast during the reception. My favorite part is when he mentioned that he and Steve should have gotten a pension from the community pool where they worked together as lifeguard’s for ten summers. And the line about being Steve’s “younger, more attractive identical twin brother.” Great job, Kevin!

I loved their first dance.

Just outside of the reception room, a bonfire was going where guests were making S’mores and enjoying themselves outside. I spent a lot of time out here at the end of the night.

I asked Steve and Robyn why they chose red as their wedding color. Robyn said that Steve wanted “Badger Red” (though the actual color is called Ferrari Red) to represent his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin. Go Badgers!

On the left is Mike and Laura, who will be married next month. On the right, Steve and Ryan. Ryan’s all mine.

I can dance too.

Saturday was Liz and Dan’s 34th wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations, Steve and Robyn! I hope you’re having a great honeymoon–Aloha!
