Heather and Jonathan’s Wedding at Heinz History Center and Pittsburgh Opera
Heather and Jonathan live in Boston but they both grew up in Pittsburgh. Their families live in Pittsburgh so they decided to return for their non-traditional, industrial-looking wedding last weekend. I was so honored to be a part of this unique event full of happy, excited people! Nicki and I spent a few minutes setting up the First Look where Heather and Jonathan would see each other for the first time on their wedding day. As soon as we gestured for Heather to move towards Jonathan, she sprinted towards him as I barely had time to get in position for my shot. She moved fast in those wedding shoes! When…

Allie and Matt’s Wedding at St Therese of Lisieux
Earlier this year, I learned that Nicki’s friend, Allie, was getting married and that Nicki was going to be her wedding photographer. While I was distraught that I would be losing my second shooter for one Saturday in June, I was thrilled that she would be fully in charge photography on a wedding day. Today I’m sharing Allie’s wedding photos on Nicki’s behalf. While I wasn’t at this wedding, I think it’s a great opportunity for me to showcase Nicki’s incredible talent and you can see the reason I love having her with me when I photograph a wedding. “Matt and Allie met in Oakland while attending college at the…

Leah and Bart’s Wedding at Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry
Leah and Bart were in each other’s lives from an early age, but neither of them knew it. They went to the same school and were members at the same country club, but they weren’t introduced until they had some mutual friends in college. They are both so kind and patient and it’s easy to see how they get along so well. Their wedding ceremony as held at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Before the ceremony was the first time I met a very nervous Bart. Thankfully, when the ceremony was over and he was married to Leah, he instantly relaxed and his expressions changed completely for the rest of the day.…

Sarah and Matt’s Engagement Photos at Carnegie Mellon University
I love the story of how Sarah and Matt met. Probably because it is the opposite of the story of how I met my husband (college guy notices college girl and chooses a class project group to try to meet her). In Sarah and Matt’s case, Sarah noticed Matt in one of her classes. She thought that he had a nice smile and he preferred to sit in the back of the classroom. Next time they had class, she sat in the back of the classroom and like clockwork, Matt came to sit in his usual spot. They met there in class and sparks flew when they saw each other…

Anna and Ben’s Wedding at the Doubletree by Hilton at Meadowlands
Anna and Ben have been waiting a long time for their wedding. When I recently met them, they reminded me that it had been two years since we took their engagement photos at their (and my) alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University. But in these two years, they have not been idle. They moved to Michigan where they are BOTH working to earn their PhDs, celebrating at Michigan football games, and playing with their new puppy. After seeing them celebrate their awesome wedding day, anyone could tell that the wait was worth it! Anna and Ben were married at Peter’s Creek Baptist Church. These academics recited their personal, lengthy wedding vows with…
