Friday Photo
Ryan and I are in Minnesota this weekend for Laura and Mike’s wedding. Last night I took this photo (with my point and shoot camera) of Laura with her 4 brothers sporting these nifty shirts. Nicki is the designer and creator of theses shirts. She is also here with us this weekend since Ryan and I are attendants in the wedding. I’ll be doing a bit of photography during the First Look until I don a bridesmaids’ dress and Nicki takes over for the ceremony and reception. Look forward to seeing work from her primary-photographer shooting debut next week.

Ashley and Jim’s Wedding at Greystone Fields
Just like they did for their engagement photo session, Ashley and Jim had a beautiful perfect October day for their wedding. The leaves were changing, birds were singing, and Ashley and Jim were so very thankful for this picture perfect weather. Jim lives in Iowa and Ashley lives in Pittsburgh. After years of a long distance relationship Jim is finally getting his transfer his job to Pittsburgh. Last weekend they married and marked the end of long distance relationship and the beginning of close-distance long relationship. Nicki and I spent the day with Ashley, Jim, and their families at Greystone Fields. We were so happy to be there with them. First…

Casey and Jonas’ Engagement Session in Downtown Pittsburgh
I met Casey when she was a bridesmaid in her sister’s wedding that I photographed last summer. It’s a huge honor to be invited back to another wedding in the same family. That’s the only way that I ever want to have a “repeat client” from my wedding couples. Casey and Jonas met when they were students at the University of West Virginia. Jonas needed a date for an event so he asked Casey, whom he just met just moments before asking her out. Casey turned him down (he was a complete stranger at that point) but sent him an instant message a few days later. Now they live near…

Rachel and Devin’s Engagement Session in Highland Park
Sometimes I’m intimidated by my clients. For example, when I’m learning about their lives and they tell me that they went to school for photography. I’m intimidated, but also humbled and excited. That’s how I felt when I met Rachel and Devin earlier this year. Rachel and Devin met when they were students at Syracuse University. They’ve traveled together, lived in London (right next to one of Ottolenghi‘s restaurants–I’m jealous!), and now are spending their time in Pittsburgh. They wisely chose Highland Park as the location for their engagement photo shoot location. We spent a spectacular October afternoon together there earlier this week. Congratulations, Rachel and Devin. I’m thrilled to…

Carla and Mike’s Engagement Session on the North Shore
Maybe Carla and Mike should have met in college. Carla was going to Carnegie Mellon (yay, she was in my graduating class!) while Mike was going to Pitt. But they didn’t meet in college. They met years later and immediately liked each other. What’s not to like? They’re both smart, adorable, and love to have fun. Here are some of my favorite photos from their engagement photo shoot on Pittsburgh’s North Shore This is pretty hot! Mike did a great job choosing Carla’s ring all by himself. We finished our shoot on Mt Washington with a dramatic sky. Congratulations, Carla and Mike! I’m so excited for your wedding in April.
