Ashley and Jim’s Engagement Session at Mellon Park
Ashley and Jim are very busy. Ashley is a nursing student and Jim lives and works in Iowa. While they are hoping to both live in Pittsburgh as soon as possible, right now they only get to see each other every few months, so it was a challenge to schedule their engagement photos. When we were all in the same city last weekend, we met at Mellon Park for their session. Luckily, we had a spectacular day with perfect weather. Maybe even a little hot for October. I’m pretty sure this is my favorite. Ashley is so beautiful! They sit on a bench–I run around like a crazy person. The…

DeAnna and Tony’s Engagement Session in the Strip District
Oh DeAnna and Tony. When they came over to my home for an interview, the 2.5 hour conversation passed quickly through interesting subjects (for all of us) like their wedding, their friends, and food. They are both foodies and what better place for their engagement photos that Pittsburgh’s center for food–the Strip District. I had an absolutely wonderful time taking these photos. Tony was especially hilarious for some of their first photos. Has anyone seen this mural lately? It’s new (near 20th and Penn) and it’s looking pretty good. But not as good as these two. They are so playful and really enjoy each other. Oh 50mm lens, you are…

Therasa and Matt’s Engagement Photos at CalU
Last week, I made the long drive with Therasa and Matt to California University of Pennsylvania for their engagement photo shoot. Therasa and Matt both went to college here, met, and built a significant part of their relationship. So I couldn’t really think of a better place for their engagement photos than the place where they spend so much time together. Therasa (who is hilarious) told me all about the different buildings she used to carry her art supplies up and down many, many stairs. I’m not sure what Therasa did to make Matt laugh so much! My favorite lighting situation. Therasa razzing Matt while swinging around this pole. Until…

Anna and Nick’s Engagement Photos at Carnegie Mellon University
Oh how I’ve been waiting for this shoot! Well, at least a shoot on Carnegie Mellon’s campus. I met fellow CMU alums Anna and Nick last week for an interview, and was so thrilled to hear that they wanted to have their engagement photos taken on CMU’s campus. Campus is very special to Anna and Nick since they met there during their first week of college. We began at Mudge House, a residence hall where Anna worked as an RA during most of her college career. It was super special to be here since they had spent so much time here, and a treat for me, as the building is…

Jess and Jason’s Engagement Photos at Ohiopyle
Oh facebook. How I love/hate you. So often you are wasting my time. But other times you are helping me share my photography with the world, and more importantly, helping great people find me. Thankfully, the latter is true for Jess and Jason, who found me after seeing Shannon and Derek’s Engagement Photos posted on facebook. Fast forward to…now, time for their engagement photos. I really love when couples choose a place that is significant to them for their photos. Since Jason proposed to Jess in Niagara Falls, Canada, we knew that a waterfall was the perfect place for them. We all drove to Ohiopyle on a Monday night for…
