How to be a Good Bridesmaid
I’d like to think that I was a pretty good bridesmaid. I’ve seen it done a few times and I definitely know what not to do. Some things that I wanted to remember last weekend when I was helping Laura on her wedding day include: 1. Get the bride food, water, drinks, help, and whatever else she needs. 2. Nobody cares about how you look, Randi, you’re a bridesmaid. 3. Divert anyone that causes the bride stress. She’s planned enough things for this day and most problems should be handled by someone else at this point. She should focus on having a good time and being with her new husband.…

Friday Photo
Ryan and I are in Minnesota this weekend for Laura and Mike’s wedding. Last night I took this photo (with my point and shoot camera) of Laura with her 4 brothers sporting these nifty shirts. Nicki is the designer and creator of theses shirts. She is also here with us this weekend since Ryan and I are attendants in the wedding. I’ll be doing a bit of photography during the First Look until I don a bridesmaids’ dress and Nicki takes over for the ceremony and reception. Look forward to seeing work from her primary-photographer shooting debut next week.

Ashley and Jim’s Wedding at Greystone Fields
Just like they did for their engagement photo session, Ashley and Jim had a beautiful perfect October day for their wedding. The leaves were changing, birds were singing, and Ashley and Jim were so very thankful for this picture perfect weather. Jim lives in Iowa and Ashley lives in Pittsburgh. After years of a long distance relationship Jim is finally getting his transfer his job to Pittsburgh. Last weekend they married and marked the end of long distance relationship and the beginning of close-distance long relationship. Nicki and I spent the day with Ashley, Jim, and their families at Greystone Fields. We were so happy to be there with them. First…

Carmen and Vince’s Wedding at the Heinz History Center
Carmen and Vince met when they were both working for Fair Trade companies. Carmen was living in DC and Vince was living in San Francisco. At a work event in New York City, Carmen and Vince were the first people to arrive at a work-related dinner when everyone else was very very late. They got to know each other and started their bi-coastal relationship, spending many hours on cross-country flights. Both Carmen and Vince have planned many events related to their jobs. When I talked to Carmen about their wedding, she claimed this event was slightly easier to plan than work events because it was in one language, traded one…

The newest Mr. & Mrs. Voss–Steve and Robyn!!!
I’m so excited to share this wedding today. It was beautiful, fun, fantastic, and I got to see so much of my family! Ryan and I really enjoyed this trip to Minnesota. We had four days of family fun including a wedding rehearsal on Thursday, a Groom’s dinner on Friday, the wedding day on Saturday and gift opening during Sunday brunch. For most families, this might seem like a lot of events, but it barely gave me enough time to visit with Ryan’s huge immediate family and all of my new in-laws. Robyn and Steve have been together since 2005 when they met at work at the local pool. They’ve been…
