Alana and Daire live in San Francisco, but Alana is originally from Pittsburgh and Daire is from Dublin. I had talked with them on the phone before, but I met Alana and Daire in person for the first time just a week before their wedding day. We met for brunch at Pamela’s in the Strip District to review what was most important to them about their wedding.
They chose great locations for their wedding day celebration including Saint Paul Cathedral in Oakland (with Daire’s priest from Ireland performing the marriage ceremony) and the Great Hall at the Heinz History Center. Great venues aside, the thing that was most important was family and friends all coming together on the same day. Since they have family living all over the country and all over the world, this was the first day that they’d all be together in one room celebrating Alana and Darie’s marriage. They had a great wedding day that certainly lived up to the hype of an international event.
Justine from Beauty Justified helped all of the bridesmaids look their best with great hair and makeup. The staff at the Heinz History Center and Common Plea Catering made sure that the reception was perfectly executed as always. DJ Kevin Howard played excellent music for the whole reception including a performance from the professional Riverdance dances who are members of Daire’s family. (The dancing was amazing!)
On this very hot Friday in Pittsburgh, Nicki and I had the honor of photographing Alana and Daire’s wedding. The first photo is by the very helpful and polite Sean Means who came along to assist.
Congratulations, Alana and Daire!
