Dana and Drew’s Wedding at The University Club
Most of the time, new wedding clients first make contact with me after they are engaged to be married. This time, the mother-of-the-not-yet-bride-to-be was taking a photography class that I was teaching almost 2 years ago. Shortly after meeting me, she told me that her daughter was going to be getting married and I would be the wedding photographer. I took her seriously because she means business, but I also had thoughts like “I wonder if this couple would like my style of wedding photography?” and “I wonder if this will work out.” But it did! After Dana and Drew became engaged, I got to meet them and we had a great connection.
When Dana and Drew met, they were living in Rochester, New York. After becoming engaged, they planned their wedding in Dana’s hometown here in Pittsburgh, and relocated to West Virginia where Dana is a professor. For their wedding venue, they chose the beautiful University Club located on the campus of The University of Pittsburgh. Their flowers were designed by My Garden Floral, and their wedding entertainment was provided by DJ Dean McAfee.
They started their wedding day together at Dana’s parents’ beautiful home. Dana’s dad accompanied her to see Drew for the first time that day and we spent some time taking photos at their home before the ceremony. Rain kept us from venturing too far away from the house, but Dana and Drew look great in any location.
Many thanks to Christina Montemurro for spending this day photographing this wedding with me, and providing (among many others) the magical shot of the sand ceremony!
Congratulations, Dana and Drew!
