Harry and Kayt’s ShotBox
Well, I have the best job in the whole world! After spending hours looking at great moments from their wedding day, I moved on to their ShotBox photos! Wow! I love editing the ShotBox photos as it is the first time I get to look through the photos. While I’m capturing moments on the dance floor or at the bar, Ryan is helping guests party hard in ShotBox. What great fun to look at a bunch of people having a great time! Harry and Kayt decided that they wanted a photobooth at their wedding before they met with me last fall. ShotBox was the perfect fit for the party atmosphere…

Harry and Kayt tie the knot at Heinz History Center….then celebrate at Olive or Twist
I must have been ill (I was) when I shot Harry & Kayt’s engagement photos to not have remembered to share the story of how they met. In Kayt’s own words from their wedding website……. “We met at a party that Emerson had scheduled for all the freshmen during orientation. At the party, everyone received a balloon, blew it up, and threw it in the air. As the balloons were coming back down, we were all instructed to grab one and pair up with someone of the opposite gender with a different colored balloon. It was one of those moments where everyone is already paired up around you and you’re…

Jill and Mike’s Wedding at the Twentieth Century Club
I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Jill and Mike’s wedding last weekend. They were married at Heinz Memorial Chapel, the same place where Jill’s parents were married. First, I joined Jill in Oakland at The Twentieth Century Club. I loved meeting Jill’s friends and family in such a great space. The low-down on Jill’s wedding gear: Hair and makeup by Platinum Salon in Lawrenceville, jewelery by Clarissa Boutique, and dress by Celestial Brides in Johnstown. Nicki met Mike and his groomsmen at The Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh. Then onto Heinz Memorial Chapel Jill and her beautiful mom, Evelyn. Nicki was stationed in the balcony of the chapel. We…

Lindsay and Justin’s Engagement Photos
I’ve been waiting for this session for a long time. And so have Lindsay and Justin. It’s pretty rare for a bride and groom to request snowy, cold weather. But the real challenge with this shoot was finding a day that was 1. available 2. no one was sick or injured 3. it wasn’t raining 4. snow was on the ground That day was Wednesday. We got together for their engagement photos at Mellon Park–and it was even sunny for a bit. Lindsay and Justin met at Mad Mex, and it is still one of their favorite spots (even after she worked there). Lindsay and Justin are adorable and hilarious.…

A Whole Decade
A whole decade (over 1/3 of my life) with one lucky guy. That’s right. 10 years ago today, I started dating Ryan. It started with a few casual after-class dates–the kind that aren’t really dates–when you are hungry after class and have to eat somewhere that accepts your campus meal plan. After shopping with my roommate, I returned to my dorm room to a rose and a thoughtfully written card. Then, I was unable to find Ryan for 7 hours!!!! Later, I learned that he was hiding (perhaps from fear of rejection?), but I found him and never let go. I’m so happy to be married to my best friend…
