    Turkey Bowl 2010

This year, I knew that Ryan and I would be visiting his family in Minnesota for Thanksgiving, so I was very sad that I would miss our annual Turkey Bowl at Steel Valley.  Last year’s Turkey Bowl was amazing, and I really didn’t want to go a whole year without one, so I planned my own Turkey Bowl to be played in Minnesota.  Luckily, Ryan has a huge family so it was easy to recruit a whole team with mostly family, and a few friends too. Today has been my coldest Turkey Bowl to date 7F with a wind chill of -5F to -10F.  Brrr!  But it really wasn’t as…

    Turkey Bowl 2009

This year’s Turkey Bowl was awesome! This is the third year for the event and the best yet.  Flag (aka tube sock) football played on a 40-yard long field (often crooked) on Thanksgiving morning.  Each team has a QB or sometimes the two teams share a quarterback.  Only one running play is allowed per set of downs.  There is one “first down” progression and everyone is a receiver.  Sometimes there is a huddle, but no set plays, really.  Pretty much the best way to play football. Here is event organizer ( and best sister ever, Nicki) modeling this year’s shirts. The black team waiting to play.  A fierce bunch.  Uncle…

    Bunny Bowl 2011

Though our last Bunny Bowl was two years ago, Saturday was the “2nd Annual Bunny Bowl.” We played early on Saturday morning in order to be done before the Penguins playoff game. By “we,” I exclude myself since I have a little bit of a foot injury and have to be well for upcoming weddings. See, I keep myself healthy for you. Carmela and my Dad. Nicki and my Dad play “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” though it seems that my Dad forgot the rules. Seriously, one finger? What is that? A pencil? Looks at me like he doesn’t know the rules of R,P,S even though I have PROOF that he played…

Alissa and Mike’s Engagement Session on Pittsburgh’s North Shore

This post is brought to you by the letter M. Alissa and Mike sat next to each other during high school homeroom, both having last names that begin with the letter M. Thankfully, after years of casually saying “hello” to her in the mornings, Mike decided to talk to Alissa. Like all engagement stories that I write, this one has a happy ending because now they’re planning their wedding coming up in June of 2012. I was very excited for this shoot. Mike’s family and my family are long time friends and I see him regularly around town and when we play flag football. Alissa and Mike were also attendants…

Jess and Jason’s Engagement Photos at Ohiopyle

Oh facebook.  How I love/hate you.  So often you are wasting my time.  But other times you are helping me share my photography with the world, and more importantly, helping great people find me.  Thankfully, the latter is true for Jess and Jason, who found me after seeing Shannon and Derek’s Engagement Photos posted on facebook. Fast forward to…now, time for their engagement photos.  I really love when couples choose a place that is significant to them for their photos.  Since Jason proposed to Jess in Niagara Falls, Canada, we knew that a waterfall was the perfect place for them. We all drove to Ohiopyle on a Monday night for…
