Anna and Ben’s Wedding at the Doubletree by Hilton at Meadowlands
Anna and Ben have been waiting a long time for their wedding. When I recently met them, they reminded me that it had been two years since we took their engagement photos at their (and my) alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University. But in these two years, they have not been idle. They moved to Michigan where they are BOTH working to earn their PhDs, celebrating at Michigan football games, and playing with their new puppy. After seeing them celebrate their awesome wedding day, anyone could tell that the wait was worth it! Anna and Ben were married at Peter’s Creek Baptist Church. These academics recited their personal, lengthy wedding vows with…

Olivia and Chris’s Wedding at Pittsburgh Opera
Olivia and Chris met when they were students together at Penn State. While that’s where they met, they didn’t start their dating and courtship until they were attending an alumni ski trip and started to know each other a bit better. They lived apart from one another for four out of they six years they have been dating. They endured a long distance relationship and finally got to be together in 2011 when Chris moved to Texas where they live and work as engineers. Olivia and Chris are very organized and detail oriented. As a trained engineer myself, I appreciate and embrace some structured elements to the wedding day. I…

Diana and Phil’s Wedding at Phipps Conservatory and Cranberry Marriott Pittsburgh North
Diana and Phil really wanted to have a good plan for their wedding day. Especially Phil–he loves a good plan. I do too and I think that’s one of the reasons that Diana and Phil hired me to photograph their wedding. Having been in a number of weddings, they knew that wedding day schedules can be thrown off by anything–and they wanted to make sure their photography stayed on track. While we were taking photographs, Phil was checking his watch to make sure things were moving smoothly (and they were). While I felt a little self-conscious, I learned during the toast from the best men that without restrictions, Phil would…

Heather and Tim’s Wedding at Springwood Conference Center
Most people think about what the weather will be like on their wedding day. Some people even get obsessed with monitoring the weather in the days leading up to their wedding. Tim has been thinking about the weather since he proposed to Heather. But not in the way you might think! When Tim purchased Heather’s engagement ring, the jeweler had a policy in place that the cost of Heather’s engagement ring would be refunded if there was one full inch of rain on the wedding day. If this was a sensitive subject, I wouldn’t mention it. However, Tim mentioned his hope for rain to me during our first meeting together. It…

Kendra and Ed’s Engagement Photos at Schenley Plaza at the University of Pittsburgh
Kendra and Ed had a really hard time choosing their wedding date. I only know this because I was working with them to make sure that I was available to photograph their wedding in Spring of 2014. Through two venue changes and five different dates, the planets finally aligned and they set their date. I am thrilled to be their wedding photographer! I was happy to spend time with them last week for their gorgeous, sunny engagement photos on the University of Pittsburgh campus at Schenley Plaza.
