Summer Fruits
Here is an update on my tomato plants that I grew from seed this spring. All of the seeds came from the Seed Savers Exchange and the mature plants are doing great. We’ve had at least 10-12 quarts of these babies. And about 50 of of these big mamma jammas. Nicki and I just used 40 of them to make salsa (video coming soon, after Labor Day). Rebar stakes necessary for these heavy plants. More like a “tomato hedge” than just plants.

Laura and Donnie’s Wedding Album
Good news, everyone! Laura and Donnie‘s fantastic wedding album has arrived! Laura and Donnie were married in Hawaii on May 8, 2010 and I was lucky enough to be there. At first, Laura was considering a book with a pink accent to go with the bright pink accents she used in her wedding attire. We were looking at material swatches and were struck by the idea of creating an old-travel-journal-style album. I’m SO pleased with how everything turned out in the end–the album layout design and the physical artifact. Their wedding album is a 10″x10″ Finao One with two kinds of leather: “Chiara” on the main face, and “Krumble” on the…

Jess and Andrew’s Wedding
Jessica and Andrew have been planning their wedding for over a year. I met with Jess and her mom last summer when Andrew was still living out of the country. And I got to meet Andrew for the first time at their engagement photos earlier this year. Saturday was the day they had been planning for, and everything did go so smoothly. After getting ready in the morning, Jess and Andrew exchanged vows at the Prince of Peace Church in Aliquippa. Here is Jess seeing herself as a bride, for the first time. Her hair and makeup were done by On Location Artistry by Jennifer LaBella. Jennifer was SO…

Anna and Nick’s Engagement Photos at Carnegie Mellon University
Oh how I’ve been waiting for this shoot! Well, at least a shoot on Carnegie Mellon’s campus. I met fellow CMU alums Anna and Nick last week for an interview, and was so thrilled to hear that they wanted to have their engagement photos taken on CMU’s campus. Campus is very special to Anna and Nick since they met there during their first week of college. We began at Mudge House, a residence hall where Anna worked as an RA during most of her college career. It was super special to be here since they had spent so much time here, and a treat for me, as the building is…

Viktorija and Michael’s Wedding at the Heinz History Center Sports Museum
Viktorija and Michael met years ago when they were in college. They were good friends with many mutual friends, but went their separate ways upon graduation. All of their friends thought that they should have dated, but they did not. A few years ago, Michael was looking for an old friend in an alumni database when he came upon Viktorija’s sister’s name. He emailed Marija to say “hello” and see how her family was doing. Marija passed along Michael’s new contact information to Viktorija. Viktorija emailed Michael and they agreed to meet “at 9pm in the lobby of the Fitzpatrick Chicago Hotel for libations.” When they met, they both knew…
